Our Projects

AGS crews specialize in addressing the complex seismic acquisition challenges represented by Eastern and Central Europe.  AGS brings together the people, technology and service to generate high quality acquisition solutions for its customers.  AGS is known for timely completion, setting new daily in-country production records on recent projects.

Customers benefit from the AGS track record for efficiency and technology leadership in acquisition geophysics.  Now part of Viking Geophysical Services, AGS has added assets for more recording capacity and expertise.  Customers gain additional value with expanded services and a larger operational footprint.  This growth positions the company to offer key seismic technologies for enhancing exploration and production performance and reduce a customer's risk.

Multi-target Acquisition Considerations

Technical Paper. Abstract presented at 2009 SEG

Solving the multi-objective acquisition problem through the use of cable-free acquisition technology. Author: C. Jason Criss*, Ascend Geo.

Many geographic areas present competing imaging challenges that require different acquisition design parameters.  Seismic recording systems with limited or no cables allow more flexible acquisition design. This is a clear advantage when there is more than one geologic target that must be imaged in a seismic acquisition project.

Improving Vibroseis Productivity

Technical Presentation, presented at EAGE 2008 Vibroseis Workshop in Prague

Improving Vibroseis productivity in environments with significant cultural obstacles. Primary author:  Dr. Roger Haston, Managing Director, Acoustic Geophsyical Services

High-production vibroseis techniques such as Slip Sweep ,HPVA and HFVS can create significant improvement in seismic acquisition productivity. However, these techniques are most effective in areas which have very few geographic and cultural obstacles. In areas which have more surface congestion, greater Vibroseis productivity can be achieved through stakeless source surveying and cable-free recording.
